12:10 PM “Maybe the present is a little unsatisfying because life is a little unsatisfying” - Midnight in Paris One word to describe the movie: Divine. The frustration of a modern writer towards the reality, the fantasy of Paris with art and music, the meaning of past and present. The movie ironically shows out the contradiction of human in different century, struggling between the past and present. The excitement of the writer to experience the past was so interesting and inspiring at the same time. We're always unsatisfied with whatever we have, just because we own it, it's an emptiness of existence. There's are two types of people in the world: the person who longed for the future and the person who stays in the past. No matter how, present will never become their ideal state. For them, the present is the disappointment. I used to be one them, more to the future side, that i can do better than now. It's a good thing sometimes as we can just keep on going and going, to search for the right thing or to maximize your limit; but I realized that it's important to embrace the present as well, the people and the small little things in life, that matters too. It takes a lot of courage to live in present, but not in denial (past and future), as we need to face the imperfection and reality in life. Present reflects who we are right at the moment, it's rough and real at the same time. Just like the quote that stated above, it won't be perfect, but this is life. =) Saturday, December 31, 2011
1:49 AM ![]() Lack of pictures equals to lack of updates, accidentally found this pic in my hardisk, might be the last pic of 2011 hah =) Read this book called Father Fiction by Donald Miller few days ago when I'm on my way back to hometown. It's a book that tells the story of the author which growing up in a single-parent family. Surprisingly, it brought me into a whole new concept about the sense of belonging. Awesome i can say. The world could be fixed of its problem if every child understood the necessity of their existence. - Father Fiction Do you realize that each and every person in this world is trying hard to search for the sense of belonging from their family, career, relationships and friendships without even knowing it? The feeling of being needed by someone, or some ordinary responsibilities; but surprisingly those are the things that make you feel good, important and meaningful, isn't it? An interesting question from this book which says: Can you imagine how different a world would be if all the children were taught of this idea? The idea of growing up believing that if you didn't exist, your family would fall apart. Don't think yourself as a burden, find your own value of existence and you'll be great someday!! =) Sunday, November 6, 2011
10:23 PM Life is too ironic to fully understand. It takes sadness to know what happiness is, noise to appreciate silence; and absence to value presence. - Unknown No matter how, don't stop believing. You are worthy to be loved. =)
